Cancellation & Refunds Policy
When you place an order on STUX, you pay a small booking amount upfront to confirm your order with the restaurant. The remainder of your bill is paid directly to the restaurant at the counter. This policy explains when the booking amount is refunded.
Orders are not cancellable by students
Once you complete payment of the booking amount, you cannot cancel the order yourself. The order can only end through the restaurant's response or a timeout, as described below.
When you get a full refund
- The restaurant rejects your order. If the restaurant is unable to accept your order, your full booking amount is automatically refunded to your original payment method within 24–48 hours.
- The restaurant does not respond within 5 minutes. Every order must be accepted or rejected by the restaurant within 5 minutes of payment. If there is no response in that window, the order is automatically cancelled and your full booking amount is refunded within 24–48 hours.
When no refund is issued
- Your order is accepted. Once a restaurant accepts your order, the booking amount becomes non-refundable — this holds your order while the restaurant prepares it.
- Your pickup code/QR expires unused. After acceptance, you have 90 minutes to show your order code or QR at the restaurant counter. If it is not used within that window, the order expires and no refund is issued.
How refunds are processed
Eligible refunds are issued automatically to the original payment method used at checkout, via our payment partner Razorpay. Refunds typically reflect in your account within 24–48 hours of being initiated, though your bank may take longer to display the credit.
Amount paid at the restaurant
The remainder of your bill (total minus the booking amount) is paid directly to the restaurant in person and is subject to the restaurant's own policies — STUX does not process or refund this portion.
